Calm & Confident: Emotional Skills Group for Middle School Success

Helping Middle Schoolers Control Their Emotions

  • Do you feel like you’re walking on eggshells, never knowing what mood your middle-schooler will be in?

  • Does every small disagreement with your child seem to turn into a big battle?

  • Are you exhausted from trying to calm your middle-schooler down after meltdowns or outbursts?

You’re not alone. Many parents feel like they’re “back in toddler years” when it comes to their child’s emotions. That’s why we created Calm & Confident: Emotional Skills Group for Middle School Success - a supportive, engaging program where middle-schoolers learn how to handle big feelings in healthier ways.

Our Calm & Confident group is a 6-week, therapist-led program designed to help students in grades 6-8 understand, express, and manage their emotions more effectively.

Through interactive games, guided discussions, and mindfulness-based activities, students will learn essential self-regulation tools that they can apply in school, friendships, and family life. Your child will build skills in naming emotions, grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and using the Zones of Regulation framework. Each session offers a supportive space to practice healthy coping strategies and build confidence—all while connecting with peers in a small, nurturing group.

Whether your child is struggling with big feelings, stress, or just needs help developing better emotional awareness, this group is designed to meet them where they are and help them grow.

Sessions begin September 23 and run weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Limited spots are available. A brief intake call is required before registration.

Give your middle schooler the gift of emotional confidence and resilience. We’re here to walk alongside them—and you—every step of the way.
